These traditional village houses can be found in Lakonia, a 10 minutes’ drive away from Aghios Nikolaos.
They are situated at the top part of the village, nestled between lush green olive groves and village houses and gardens. They have been abandoned for many years but have lovely traditional features such as indoor arches and built-in beds. One of them was used to film the famous TV series “The Island”, based on Victoria Hislop’s novel of the same name.
In the area around the property, are more village houses that are also available for sale. This could therefore make for an interesting project, maybe something along the lines of agritourism, as the area is well known for its vast lands of olive groves and numerous other agricultural activities. Another positive factor is that it is close to the town of Aghios Nikolaos and its fantastic beaches, so one can enjoy the best of both the mountains and the sea.
They are easily accessible from the main road running through the village. There are also very popular restaurants in the area with delicious Cretan food within 2-3 minutes’ drive in either direction.
There are five adjoining houses, all built in the same way, and each is about 60m2 in size. Some are in better condition than others. They all have terraces with lovely countryside views and some have a garden.
